UHC

Has anyone has UHC (Ohio)? Just wondering. I called and they advised me that my plan covers WLS at 90% but I didn't know if I would have to be on a diet for 6 months supervised. Would love to know if any of you have experience with this. Thanks :)

I dont know but. I would get into your pcp asap maybe tomorrow and get started on a supervised diet and weigh in and talk about excercise. It would not hurt. I had to do the diet and wasted alot of time not doing it. Take Care Barb

Vicki i dunno if ill be much help either .. i have uhc and they were a dream but i also came into them halfway through my approval with my old insurance my old insurance only required 3 mo diet and i was done with that and uhc accepted it ... best bet call uhc directly and ask if YOUR PLAN SPECIFICALLY requires any kind of diet or not also the benefits person at you dr office might have the answer for you also .. but i agree with barb i would get started with your doc ASAP just in case you do need it Hope this helps Missy

UHC was a breeze to work with. They will cover any of the different procedures, too. Just call and ask them what they want, but I can tell you what I had to do for approval. Psych evaluation Letter from PCP that states current weight and BMI, weight loss attempts in the past, and their support of you having whichever WLS you choose. That's it!!
