The Waiting is Killing Me!
I heard on May 12th that my insurance had approved me for the WLS. I called OSU and they forwarded my file to the surgeons office so they could schedule the consult. So now I wait...I called last week and the surgeon's "scheduling person" said she just had not got to it??? I felt like I was being intrusive asking her when she thought she was going to scheudle it, and when it would most likely be scheduled. She did not even ask me when would be convenient for me. This makes me feel very frustrated and like I am unimportant. Like we "fat" people don't have anything better going on in our lives. Has anyone else had to wait so long just to hear from the surgeons office after they got their insurance approveal? It was over 4 weeks I had to wait for the insurance approval and now I am having to wait just to hear from the surgeons office....sorry to ramble, but I needed to vent......any suggestions?

I am sorry that you are doing the "waiting game". I was lucky. When I called Dr Curry's office excited about being approved, they had me scheduled for surgery within 3 weeks. I would have been upset too had someone told me that they hadn't gotten around to it. Hang in there.....your wait is almost over! Good luck!
This whole process has been over 8 months for me from initial group meeting. I sent my original paperwork in on January 2nd this year. My surgery is next Tuesday. It took me about 4 weeks to get a surgery date after ins. approval. The surgery date was set a little over 4 weeks after seeing the surgeon. Hang in there - it will all work out.
Contact Shannon Suber if you have not already. I got my approval in the mail, faxed it the next day to her.. then the surgeons office called to get my inital consultation and 10 days later I had the surgery. All I can think of is they are really booked up. I did not have to wait that long.
Call Shannon... hopefully she can help you out.
Best Wishes
