I have a question maybe Dr C has some avise
I am scheduled to have an open RNY WED May 24th but yesterday I started not feeling well my throat was scratchy. When I woke up this morning I had a horrible sore throat and just don't feel good I don't think I have a fever. I went to my PCP and he didn't even check me he gave me an antibiotic and said just go have the surgery we waited 2 years for this so don't change it now. I was wondering if anyone else had it done when they were not feeling 100%. I did call the surgeons office and they said they'll talk with him tommorow and see what his take on it is. They also said it was my option to re-schedule if I choose I just don't know what to do ANY SUGGESTIONS? Also DR C IF I WAS YOUR PATIENT WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST?
Jim
with all the stress over waiting 2 years and being anxious over the surgery it is no wonder you got sick. As a nurse I can assure you that the surgeons and anestheologists will not carry on with the surgery is they think there is any risk to you. Rest, RELAX and take your meds and vitamins... your new life is waiting for you.........I felt good going into this surgery because of all the pre op testing i had to have....any operation carries risk but obeasity risk is so much higher......good luck and i will be praying for you........diane
