Anyone dealt with Social Sec. Disability here?
Was wondering if any of you have been through the Social Security Disability process? I applied in Nov 05 and just got a call this past Monday from my Congressman's representitive (who I had wrote to for a congressional inquiry into my claim to see what was taking so long) and she told me on the phone that my claim had been approved but it got pulled for a Quality Assurance Review and was being sent to another one of their offices in Chicago? I wonder how long this will take for the review? Just wondered if anyone else had this happen to them.
Thanks,
Melissa
I don't really know if I should post this, but that is what I do. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. However, the average time it takes to make a decision is 90 days. The DQB review can take up to 30 days, but it just depends. If they don't like something in our decision, then they will send it back to us. Reviews of allowances are common.

Yes I went through the SS Disability process it took me over 2 years to get it I had to appeal twice then have a hearing then I finally got it. I know when they sent mine to the review board in Chicago it took about 45 days for them to review it and get a letter to me so hang in there you should know something by at least the second week of July.
Hi Jimmy
I know this is not what you want to hear, but once you're in the OHA, Office of Hearings & Appeals, their really isn't anything you can do to speed it up. Central and Southern Ohio are backed up about a year or more. Northern Ohio is backed up 2 years or more. And, once you have your hearing, it usually takes at lest 6 months to get your decision. On the "up" side, a lot of people's conditions worsen over this time making them grants.
Sorry
