DR. C STOMACH PAIN????

Dr. C Over the past 4 days every time I eat I get bad pain in my stomach. This type of pain has happened before but has never been like this for this period of time. When it's happened before (which has been VERY rare) I can lay down and it goes away and it doesn't happen again. The pain is right in the center of my abdomin. I almost have a bloated feeling that comes with the pain. Yesterday I went home from work early and I did put 4 tablespoons of benafiber in my tea and drank it thinking maybe I just need to go to the bathroom. I also ate a bowl of oatmeal before going to bed hoping that would help (after eating the pain in my stomach was fairly bad. I did go to the bathroom this morning and I'm eating some more oatmeal right now....and so far there's been no pain. I'll let you know if that changes. I'm just concerned because I know with any abdominal surgery there is a risk of blockage or bowel twisting. I also wanted to ask you if it is safe to take the Metamucil Capsules? I bought some last night then thought maybe I should ask you before I take them. I've not had any complications and I sure don't want to start now. Wanted to let you know I just weighed myself and I'm 166.5lbs. Please get back to me as soon as you have time. Thanks Dr. C! I finished the oatmeal....there isn't a whole lot of pain this time, its slightly painful. Certainly not like it has been. So maybe that's a good thing. Thanks, Lisa
