Hi everyone! Let me re-introduce myself! I was on here a year ago - trying to get RNY approved, but my insurance co at the time was a big pain... anyhow, one year later, and an insurance change - I was approved for lap band (quickly) and had it done this past Thursday! I went to Dr. Ben-Meir and had a great experience with him and all of the hospital staff! I was wondering - if/when/where there are any support groups? I know there was one at perkins by belden villiage... but I can not remember when! I would love to chat with others that have had WLS (in person)lol Thank you for any help! Starr

I'm not aware of any in this area. CCBS is just too far for me to travel to. It's over an hour drive for those support meetings. Let me know if you find any k? I'd love to meet others in our area.

Starr, Glad to see you post! The group has changed meeting locations. It is at John Knox Presbyterian Church by Stark Tech....5155 Eastlake.....still the same night (last night) at 7 p.m....btw...the second Tuestday..... I met you at the meeting that you came to there.....I had my surgery on June 1, 2005 and am down 195 pounds. I am under my goal and wear a size 4 now. There are still some of the same people there! Hi Starr.....I just came across your message today. I had my surgery with Dr. Ben Meir in Sep of 05. I am also looking for a more local group. I live in Coventry, so Canton isn't too far. Can you give me info on the next meeting if you are attending one? Thanks so much.

I had a lap RNY on 3/13 and I too am looking to find a support group. My surgeon was Dr.Walter Chlysta. Please advise when/where local patients meet. George
