Hey everybody - mostly alurker but occasionally I post. It has been a while. Had my surgery on 12/27/05 and so far have lost almost 100lbs. Fitting into old clothes, feeling better, etc, etc.... Now I want to toot my own horn, so please forgive me. This past Saturday I completed the Indianapolis 500 Mini-marathon (walking). 13.1 mile in 3 hours and 40 minutes. I am just so amazed by the results of having the DS. I have probably never been healthier and even two short months ago would never have even contemplated walking a half marathon. My sisters and mother cried when I finished because they were so proud and so happy taht I could do something like that after being so heavy for so long. Before surgery I was at 368 and 2.5 weeks ago I was at 284. Dr's appointment later today so I am crossing my fingers for the century mark. Next year my goal is to run the mini marathon. My nephew runs the darn thing every year and finished in 1 hour and 26 minutes lol But even he was really proud of me. Maybe we can get a group of people to walk it next year from the bored. Usually costs about $50 bucks and you have to sign up early. I can try to be in chrage of it. Let me know if anyone is interested. Kenn

Kenneth Great job, buddy! It's amazing how different we feel when we lose the weight. I feel like I can do anything. I have never in my life had soo much energy and I can't sit still, If I don't work out at least 2 hours a day I can't sleep at night. My co-workers are always telling me that I'm driving them crazy bouncing off the walls. I don't mean to bother them but Ijust have all this energy and I can't contain it, nor do I want to. Keep up the great work Kenneth, and toot that horn honey!!!!!

Wow is right! Great job on staying focused. That energy level will taper off eventually so enjoy it for as long as you can. I too felt like I could run circles around my co-workers. Isn't it GREAT! I would have never dreamed my life could change as much as it has. Vera Greenville, OH
