I known a few people who had this surgery done throu th medicaid just never bother to ask any information bcus i dnt need it. But I herd of this one person who mention having it done at in Teaneck NJ at Holy Name Medical Center. When calling ask to b transfer to the Bariatric department. I believe Hackensack Medical Center practice the same. I got this info from hearing n seeing so many ppl getting the surgery done n the results bn amazingly impressive. Anyone who has Medicaid n is in need of this procedure should take advantage of the insurance before it gets stopped by the government, it's growing at an alarming number the amount of ppl on medicaid who is getting it done. I know you posted this a while ago, but did you find any support groups in NYC? I live in Brooklyn
I'm disabled and have dual Medicare/Medicaid. Today I had to call my insurers to find out what WLS are covered and what the requirements are. When I called Medicare I fit all the reqs but they don't cover the VSG or DS. When I called Medicaid, the gentleman said he could not find a list of surgeries covered or a list of requirements, just that bariatric surgery is covered as long as the doctor participates.
Did any of you get your DS through NY's medicaid? I'm really starting to worry that this might not happen for me :(
Did you have to diet for 6 months

A good friend recently had Dr Graber. .my cousin is scheduled in Aug and im going for my first conciliation next week..all Dr Graber..ive gone to all thier appts with them & he's a no nonsense man ..he tells you like it is ..lol..staff awsome..
