Topic: RE: Band to VSG and Dr. Buchin Patients
Im curious to know where you have been getting your information. Dr Buchin has the highest volume for sleeve gastrectomies on LI as well as Band to Sleeve revisions and has been practicing Bariatrics since 2006. Dr Buchin absolutely still works at LIJ, in addition to Huntington Hospital, and statistics show he has minimal to no complications. Again, this is all public knowledge and if proper research is done, accurate information can be found.
Based on first hand experience, his pre-op education, his bed side manner, his accessability to his patients, his post-op care, and his patient success rates are all amazing.
Dr Buchin's patients and their success speaks for its self and for those who want true and accurate information, please check out his OH profile (link below)

Topic: RE: Vitamin D deficiency
Vitalady sells a 50,000 ui D3- no perscritption needed.
I was D deficient pre-op, and I was worried that I'd be even more deficient post op, but Dr. Stewart's vitamin instructions included taking the vitalady D3 every day. My D levels have never been better, my PCP is impressed. You might not need to take 50k ui of D every day since you had the RNY, I'm a bit different with the vitamin regimen since I've had the DS.

Dr. Styler is great. I used to be a patient of Dr. Liu, but she left to start her own practice. I was very impressed with Dr. Styler- very honest, answers any questions, and she will not waste your time.

Wow, I'm excited. Can't even let the explosive diarrhea from the prep get me down. Thanks to everyone I've met on this site for all the encouragement and kind words. Now the work begins. I'll keep on using this group because it's a lifetime journey and we all need one another. I'll chat again on the flip side. Peace to all.

I'm 3 days away from my surgery at Ellis Medicine in Schnectady. We have support groups all month, just call the bariatric center and they will mail you a schedule. We have people there alot from Albany Med's program, it doesn't matter where you decide to have surgery. There is also a North Country meeting in Queensbury NY at the Ramada Inn off exit 19, every 3rd Monday from 6:30 until 8 that you are welcome to attend. Good luck with everything and take it just one day at a time.

Wow that is great. I have to lose 13 pounds before my surgery. I have an appointment with my dietican on Tuesday. I am getting excited. I had to quite smoking for 3 months before my surgery. I have already been 3 weeks smoke free and by the time I see my doctor, it will be a month. I am thinking my surgery will be scheduled around the end of january beginning of feb. I hope so at least. I think that I will try the lean & green diet and see. I am sure my nutritionist will be putting me on a plan. We'll see. Well good luck to you, Happy Thanksgiving.!
