I had my surgery a while ago (at a different hospital too) but if you just want a buddy to talk to about what you are going through I'll gladly visit with you.

my only complaint was that on the overnight shift, they were very slow to answer the call lights. other than that, i'm doing great.

How are you feeling? I am assuming that the staff at Ellis took good care of you.

I just had mine there on Nov. 30th. They are very good, and will take awesome care of you. Good luck with your journey, take lots of notes/keep a diary. It's amazing how you change.

I am looking for a WLS buddy. I am going to be having my surgery at Ellis Hospital and was wondering if anyone out there is also going through the process with them now? I am just beginning it so I wanted to see if there was someone in the same boat that I could "buddy up" with through the meetings and what not. Like a shoulder to lean on. Please let me know....
Topic: RE: Newbie
I ended up calling Ellis and I have decided to have my surgery through them. I am still waiting (after a month) for my PCP to get on the ball and write my letter of recommendation. I called on Wednesday and the receptionist said she wouldn't be back til Friday but she would make sure she got the note. So I am going to call again today and continue to call til I am such a pain in the butt that they just hurry and get the letter and prior authorization to my insurance out. When I spoke to the Bariatric team at Ellis and the woman said basically as long as everything goes smoothly and I keep all of my appointments that I could have my surgery date as early as 2 months from my initial new patient appointment. Did you find that to be true with yours? What percentage of weight did they tell you that you had to lose before surgery? Thats my biggest worry, I have PCOS and I have such a hard time losing even 5lbs. I am really nervous.
