Topic: RE: revising from band to bypass any advice
Getting my band out was the best thing I ever did.  I should have gotten the bypass from the beginning!  Good luck!  I hope you will be as happy as I am!

Topic: Binghamton Area Support Group Changes for April
For the past five years I have offered the Binghamton Area a support group at the Vestal public library on the second Wednesday of the month.  Because of low to no attendance and the fact that both Lourdes Hospital and Southern Tier Surgical Clinic now offer support groups I find that I can no longer invest the time into running this group.  I plan to stay on OH for near future so if there are any questions please don't hesitate contact me.  Thank you for your friendship, support and understanding.
Sincerely

Topic: RE: Anyone at AMC in Saranac Lake?
I called today because I have been expecting a call any day from the surgeon's office. My insurance has been cleared and all of my paperwork has been done and approved since Feb 28th (I started the program in December). I was told on Feb 28th to expect to have surgery in 4-6 weeks. Now it is March 28th and I haven't heard anything. So I called today and let them know that if I cannot get it done by May my boss will not give me the time off. I was told they are booking surgery in JUNE! Why I keep getting lied to is beyond me. I have called every hospital in New York and Vermont and they all say I will either have to start the program over or they don't take my insurance. I've spent at least $1000 on gas alone to get to AMC and back. I just dropped $200 on my 9 day liquid diet and now I may not even need it. I am continuously being blown off and chucked to the bottom of their pile and I'm at my wits end. Don't give someone who is morbidly obese all this hope and tell them your program takes 4-6 months when it's going to take 10. It doesn't look like I'll be able to have my surgery anymore and I've spent countless hours, and paychecks on getting there in hopes of finding happiness and saving my own life. I am beside myself.

Topic: RE: revising from band to bypass any advice
I just had my band removed last Wednesday because it failed after 2 years - the band wasn't bad or I wasn't ulcerated - I'd only lost 12-15 pounds in 2 years! I had it revised to a RNY and so far I have lost 12 pounds since last week.

If it doesn't work, talk to your doctor and then get his/her advice.

Good luck!!
