I had my lap band surgery there (not with Weiss, but with his partner) in 2005. I had no complaints about the hospital- it was same day surgery but they treated me well and I had no complications. You could always schedule a tour and see what you think for yourself :)
Hi I will having Dr P do my surgery hopefully sooner than later. I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me? I have been having a hard time getting the weight off and was wondering from a patient view how is it afterwards?
Hi everyone! ',m from North Tonawanda. I am just starting out. The whole thing has mw nervous. It's more then I expected it to be. I know it's the right choice for me, but still nervous.
Good luck with your surgery! Thank you so much for responding!
I'm having my DS done with Roslin on Tuesday. I can tell you now, you will not find a better surgeon than him in NY. A lot of your questions will be answered at the seminar, and Roslin will give you excellent results. I've spoken to a lot of his patients, and been to a support group meeting....nothing but praise, even from patients who are 12 years out. :)
HW: 311 lbs - SW: 294 lbs - GW: 140 lbs Lap VSG with Dr. Roslin - 03-12-13

Best of luck with the surgery! only a few days away. Mark Cavaretta is doing my surgery - April 29th. Dr. Caruana did my gallbladder surgery in 1999. He is very nice.
How are you managing on the liquid diet?
Well yesterday I received disappointing news that Dr.Roslin is no longer in my network (Health First) so the search for a new Dr. is on again...
So far I have:
Dr. Piotr Gorecki with New York Methodist Hospital
Dr. James McGinty with St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital
Dr. Leaque Ahmed with Harlem Hospital
Dr. Daniel Herron with Mont Sinai Hospital
If anyone has worked with any of the Dr.’s I have listed I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks so much!
Eisha
These questions could probably be answered at the Information Seminar because most of the time a Surgeon, Nutritionist and Insurance specialist are all there. If not, you can always schedule a 1st consultation with the surgeon and one with the Nutritionist Sharon both on the same day.
Good luck on your weight loss journey. Make sure you research ALL types of weight loss surgeries before you make your final decision.

I'm interested in attending a support group in New York City for DS patients ONLY. If you know of any please let me know. So far I've been told that the following hospitals don't have one: Lenox Hill, Cornell and Mount Sinai.
Thanks,
Mika
I am doing a whole lot of research on which surgeon to go with for having a VSG in NYC. If so, I would love the questions below answered.
What size bougie Dr. Roslin used when doing your sleeve? Does he do a tight sleeve or a loser Also.. what eating plan are you on after surgery? Calorie requirements, carbs, protein? What is the aftercare like?
Thanks!
