I live in Hudson Falls and work in Saratoga.  Will have surgery at Ellis.  Who was your surgeon?  I know there are support groups with their group, but I haven't attended.  I am nervous.

Dr. Joseph Capella in Ramsey, NJ.  I had three procedures with him and could not be happier.  Dr, Capella specializes in post-weight loss surgery and he and his staff are fantastic.

I am seeking a good, reputable plastic surgeon in the nyc/nj area.

I had Gastric Bypass in January of 2007, and I really want to have my upper arms and possibly upper thighs, skin removed.

If anyone has any good recommendations I would appreciate it.

Best,

Beth

Topic: RE: Anyone use Dr. Roslin for VSG in NYC?

I first attended Dr Roslin's Seminar in January.  After tons of research I felt he was the most knowledgeable and experienced Surgeon in New York.  He did my DS on April 16, 2013.  I was out the the Hospital on April 19th.  Virtually no pain and I am going back to work Monday April 29, 2 weeks after surgery.  He is an incredible Doctor.  Results are forthcoming, but I am confident and doing the diet plan 100%

I went through the beginning stages with Roselin/shah's office.... Unfortunately for me i felt like they were not attentive and did not help me with what the next steps are and what was needed... 6 months ago i went to NYU langone and visited Dr. Bradley Schwack and the people in the office have been very attentive and i felt like i wasnt going through my 6 months of doc appointments and referalls etc.. alone... they were on top of it just as i was... I did the seminar and my inital appointment with Dr. Roselins office and saw a nutritinist and everything..... They never called me back and i heard nothing afterwards...

Topic: RE: Dr. Ahmad and Mather Hospital

I had my RNY with Dr. Ahmad on Jan 14th and I have nothing but nice things to say about him, his wife, and the office staff.  I work in westchester, live in queens, and they have been so accommodating for me with my appointments.   If I email nutrition a question I get a response back with in 30 minutes,  great follow-up.  I think this is the best decision I made with the best Dr.   Good Luck.

I was recommended to him by my sisters friend who is also very happy.  A co-worker of mine also has now sched. her surgery with him for June.

I agree Stacy...Dr. Ahmad's wife sucks as a support mediator.  She has her "favorites" and only those who sell and promote success are encouraged and supported.  All others are discouraged from coming.  Support is key, do not rely on Dr. Ahmad's so called support meetings to see you through.  Emotional support is vital to the successful outcome.  All they do is go around the room and discuss numbers.  THAT is not support.  We all have emotional issues that need to be addressed.  Of course they will encourage you to seek expensive therapy for this....again to sell more services.  I had no chance at success from the moment Seema told me exactly how much weight I would lose and she basically told me I was no longer a patient of Dr. Ahmad's because her golden boy had her ear and probably made up some story to them to turn them against me.  If Seema only took the time to hear my side of things, she would be ashamed of hersefl for doing so.  She is not very professional and I'm not even sure she qualifies as a weight loss counselor.  I would check into her credentials.  Yes, they are a factory and don't care about you after you are post-op.  This was my experience with them.
