Contact Aetna - get the exact contract and riders that cover YOUR policy (every employer's can be different with the various insurance providers)

 

That will also tell you the exact requirements and procedures you need to go through.  Also, keep a copy of it for your records to review as necessary and to understand what you will be charged for and also argue potential charges with insurance company.....

Also have empire-united healthcare. They denied my revision from band to sleeve because my BMI was 33 and they said that revisions are experimental on someone under BMI of 35. I went through 2 rounds of appeals and won the second one. My surgeon said that 85 percent of denials get overturned at the stage 2 appeal. Good luck!

I just switched employers. I was already in the process of wls with united healthcare. I know bank of america offers aetna. Anyone know if it covers wls???

 

Going crazy here. I do not want to spend 900/mth on cobra for the next 4 mths to get my surgery!!

Good Samaritan in Bay Shore has a support group every other Monday Night.  You can call information line for dates.  They are a great support group of pre and post-ops.  They accept people from any doctor.  I do attend this group with my wife as time allows.
