And the beat goes on...
... okay, let's get into this "same old song." On Sunday, Tavia's stomach was swollen and she was dry heaving, beginning sometime in the afternoon. We thought it would pass and let it go until the night, to see what happens. Well, Tavia feels a lot of pain, but trooper that she is, goes on and goes to bed (how well she sleeps, I don't know!).
Yesterday morning, it obviously hasn't gotten any better. So, we go see Tav's surgeon. He decides that she needs to be admitted to figure out what is going on.
she took another upper GI test. Well, first attempt (yes, FIRST), the radiologist can't see anything because the contrast stopped moving.
So, back up to the room for an hour to come back down because surely the contrast would be moving by now.
NOPE. Oh well, second attempt to read has faltered! Play the waiting game again. However, lucky for Tav, she gets to eat!!! So, I get her some chicken noodle soup (sans the noodles), which she devours. A couple of hours later, the test shows that the contrast went down but it seemed she had a functional bowel obstruction in her small intestine.
Today, her surgeon comes to see her and, after her begging, said she can go home once she gets another IV bag in her. He gave her an RX for this stuff to flush out her intestines to try to get them moving again. He didnt want to discharge her but she promised to do the cleanser at home if she promised to come in to see him in his office on friday, so he can "make sure" that she drank to stuff.
In any case, we're back home after the latest adventure... I can't take being Indiana Jones, anymore!!!

Oh man! I am so sorry you guys are going through all of this. There is not a day that goes by that i am not thinking about you guys. I am praying hard that she gets better and this mess is fixed. It is so unfair that she is going through all this crap. SHe is an amazing person and a huge support for so many of us. Help her keep that head held high, she will make it out of this dark tunnel and live a normal healthy life, i know she will! She has alot of people who love her and are praying for her. Let her know i send my love! LisaMarie
Hi Dennis,
Thank you for allowing us to keep up with what is going on in your lives. pray for your family everyday and I guess that's about all any of us can do. Please give Tavia my best wishes and you have my best wishes as well. You are both very strong and courageous. We all have special prayers for the doctor so he can find the right answer as well.
Please take care.
