I am still shedding and i just highlighted my hair again. I had it done before surgery and just did it now. Me and my hair stylist felt this was a good time being i should be comeing out of the windor of looseing. SHE didnt want to do during my peak hair looseing stage.....I have new growth now yet still pull blobs out of the shower drain. NO one notices my hair loss but me and the gal that cuts my hair. I had my surgery june 1, 2005...in case u needed to know. LISA

Hi Lisa, I know what you mean, I seem to be the only one that notices too about the hair, so hopefully it's only significant to me! Thanks for the advice, I'm really looking forward to the highlights! I have to tell you, I highlighted my hair just before my RNY. I lost my hair from month3 & it continued for a year & 3 months. I lost 95% of ALL my hair. IT was/IS a nightmare. DO NOT think it can't happen to you. IT was because of the RNY, not my one time highlight job. PLease becareful to your precious hair!!!!!!! Ang~ 268/158/..?

I think thats very true of all of us is that our hair was what we focused on when we were at our heaviest so for me i took the hair loss thing bad, then got depressed a little bit. BUT i am doing better and the good thing is i have new growth fuzzies... so its not a noticable now but still comeing..... LISA

Hi there. I colored, cut, and highlighted my hair in my 5th month....and haven't lost much hair at all since then. I got a lot done to my hair too....went from blonde to red, with highlights on top of that, and my hair held up fine. My hairdresser did, however, do a few treatments throughout the process to condition my hair. Good luck! Erin
