Hi, I went to see the surgeons office and saw the NP. She said it looks like I'm on the right track, but need to bump it up a notch with more exercise and eating 3 meals a day. I've been skipping breakfast because I'm not really hungry in the mornings, but I am gonna start just having something to start off the day. She also said that they recieved the letter of recommendation from my counselor and they are waiting for the one from my psych doc. They both are highly recommending the surgery for me. I will be going back to the surgery center once a month so they can see how I'm doing with all the changes. Then after a few months, they will discuss having the surgery. Oh, and I was so worried that I hadn't lost any weight and when I weighed in, I had lost a half a pound which is better then gaining. I'm so happy that I haven't gained. For exercise I have been walking each floor of the building I live in. There is 5 floors and I walk each one then take the stairs to the next one. It takes about 7 minutes to do it all. So I'm gonna do more of that for exercise. I am encouraged and not so worried now about doing everything perfectly. debby

Hi Debby, You are sounding more positive with each post!!! Keep up the good work and try a protein drink/shake for breakfast if nothing else. At least you are getting the protein and the liquid is easier to take than eating an egg or cottage cheese...mix with skim milk or water and a half of mushy banana or frozen blueberries (not too many). Keep us posted on your progress...you'll be on the losing side in no time. LindaM

Hi Debby, It's me again! I am happy to see that you are doing well--sounds like you're really getting it together. I would like to suggest something that I do to kick the exercise up a notch. I like to watch television--especially the three afternoon soaps on channel seven--I march in place--while I watch. I sometimes forget that I am marching, and suddenly I've marched for twenty or so minutes. Whenever I get tired I sit for a few minutes then I get up an march some more--I don't have to dress and I Feel that I haven't wasted my time. It's just a suggestion --but it might help with the weight loss and it might help increase your stamina. In any case you are doing well--keep up the good! Be Blessed and Be Well!
