Blue Choice Option

Anyone have Blue Choice Option??? I am wondering how difficult it is to get approval ... Anyone who has had RNY with this surgery please let me know what your experience was like. Thanks!

Call your insurance ask for policy in regards to wls, see what it says, if it requires a 6 month pre wls supervised medical diet or other things... jamie

Hi Annette - If you have Excellus Blue Cross. I have Blue Choice Too. Here is their policy on the RNY https://www.excellusbcbs.com/download/files/med_policies/surg_obes_1105.pdf If that link doesn't work. then go to https://www.excellusbcbs.com. Log in - go to Health and Wellness Tab - Research Health Conditions (on left hand side) - view medical policies - Stomach (gastroenterology) - surgical management of obesity (the print is kind of small - it is 6th from the top). That link will tell you what their policies and requirements are - or you could just call them. IHTH. Beth
