Michele: YOUR SURGEON is wise to require support group meetings. See these not as a REQUIREMENT but as a tool to help you be successful. The literature speaks to support groups as one thing that adds to successful outcomes. I went for 3 mo weekly preop and weekly postop for a year! I can tell you they were INTRUMENTAL in me losing my wt and maintaining! You learn so much each week! Things you need to be on track and successful IMHO! So although you have no choice, reframe it to YOU WOULDN'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD! You get one chance to be successful with this tool, take FULL advantage of all the opportunities to do that! You will thank yourself greatly a year from now! The meetings are invaluable. I agree with Jamie, Michele I am going to my support meeting tonight as well! I have not missed group since I started two months before my surgery! They are the two most important tools for us through out our weight loss journey! Embrace it for the gift that it is! Good Luck Kenny

Michele, just sent you an email. I am going to try and make it. Send me your cell this way if I can make it, I can call you and we'll set a meeting place. I'll email you mine as well. Hugs, Lisa
