Protien in Coffee
I dont know if it was on this board or not, but someone was concerned about adding protien powder to coffee. I wrote to Jay Robb, the company that i get my protien from and this was the response.
Hi Lisa,
If you have to do coffee...
You can put some hot coffee in a blender but not so hot that it will burn your mouth.
Then add some Jay Robb protein and blend.
If the water is boiling it can start to break down the protein.

I was happy to hear that. And i use my magic bullet and it really does blend nice. I also add a little sugar free hazelnut or vanilla coffee mate and splenda. Hope that helps . LisaMarie
Thanks Lisa,
I had been wondering about that too. I remember Jamie said something about protein breaking down in hot fluids. Is the Jay Robb brand the only brand that can tolerate some heat, I wonder, or is this true of all dried protein powder?
Thanks for the post. It was fun chatting last night!!

LisaMarie:
Thank you for sharing this. This is the knowledge I have from the groups online, protein can be mixed w/ hot fluid (NEVER BOILING) like what comes out of a coffee maker...I do not have exact degree temperature that it would start to break down at. UNLESS using a protein like optimum nutritions anywhey it is made to cook, bake with.
