Just thought I would check in. i have started to do a little walking. I walked 5 minutes all together down the street and back, but my asthma gets so bad that I wheeze and cant breath. Probably because of it being cold up here. They also told me I could march in place for 2 min and I'm gonna start doing that again too. I get outta breath real easy but doing the marching dont make my lungs burn, so I guess its better. I take my inhaler and that helps. I also walk the halls in my apt building. There is 5 floors and each floor is pretty long so I walk the full length of each floor. I'm also keeping a food journal about what I eat and how im feeling. I mess up on what I'm suppose to eat, but I'm working on changing it. Ya know it is hard to change to healthier eating. I went to Mc Donalds the other day and then I looked up online the calories in McDonalds food. Man alive, it is so high in calories. I was shocked. The #2 meal was over 900 calories! I'm glad I looked it up. Well, yall take care.. debby

Debby, I think we all can relate to how hard it is to chance your eating habits. But you will get there! Just look at the light at the end of the tunnel, ok? I have asthma as well so I know how difficult it can be to deal with. I have found that the medicine advair is very helpful in managing my asthma well and I do not have to use the fast acting inhaler too much. I start to wheeze as well when it is very cold out. The comes the summer and all the pollen in the air makes me wheeze. I cant win either way. So I know the struggle. I hope everything gets easier for you though, take care. Tavia

Hi Debby, I am glad to see that you are hangin' in there! You kno that we all mess up once in a while--yes even after surgery --we have to be doubly careful of what we put in our tummies. I read every label and I try to be very careful about even going to a fast food resturant. You are now on the band wagon with us--and you are doing well journaling and checking calories and fat in the foods you eatKeep up the good work! Marian S.C. 242.4/177.2/goal 125-130??
