Hi Tavia, Thats great news about your husband. Best wishes! You both deserve to be healthy and happy. I hope you are continuing to feel better. Did Dr. Gellman hook you up with that new nutritionist yet? I didn't know they did not refer to Emily anymore. Are you going to go to their support group? I'm gonna try because at least its closer now. It was too far away before I wasn't able to get there on time because of work so I went to my nutritionist's right by the house here. But I think her meeting are going to stop in May anyway. Be well. ~ Laurie

Laurie, My husband called over there last week, left the surgeons coordinator a message but she hasnt called him back yet so I dont know what is going on. I am beyond tired of going back and forth with these people, so my husband just handles it. Usually the coordinator is good at returning my husbands calls. Sometimes when my husband calls her and doesnt even leave a message, she sees his work/home number on her caller ID and she calls back. So I am assuming something is going on on the nutritionist end of it. Whatever. What I need from her more than anything is this letter stating my surgeries and medical situation b/c all of my nyu loans are going into default. The bursars office over there says they will cancel them only if I send them copies of my medical bills, list of living expenses, a personal statement stating the reason for finanical hardship and a letter from the surgeon and PCP stating my medical situation and history. Its beyond a nightmare dealing with this problem. Anyway, no I dont go to those support meetings. I owe that center money(like everything and everyone else) so they dont send me any info in the mail. Did they move from being right next to the LIJ? Take care. Tavia

Hi Tavia, I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your student loans. As if you don't have enough stress in your life! I'm sure Yvonne will get you the right info that you need. I hope this gets resolved for you soon what a nightmare! As far as the support group, Yvonne put me on the list to get mailings from North Shore Surgical because I never received any before about their support groups ( I didn't use their Nutritionist). I actually don't know where the old meetings used to be I just know they were not that close and I could not make it there after work. But the list that Yvonne sent said that the March 14th meeting will be a recipe swap, the April 11th meeting is plastic surgery options following WLS and the May 9th meeting is Nicolette Pace, R.D. (I'm assuming thats the new nutritionist that you mentioned) she will discuss post op diets for bypass and banding. The meetings will now be at N/S Manhasset. Take it easy I hope everything works out real soon, so you get this nightmare behind you and you can just concentrate on your health and feeling better. Take care. ~ Laurie

Laurie, The support meeting used to be at the center for weight loss management which is right next to LIJ hospital. That's where the nutritionist they used to use is. Yes that does sounds like the new nutritionists name come to think of it. Anyway, thanks for letting me know about the new suppport meetings and dates. I do not think I am going to be up to going just due to the fact that I live and breathe these people. Also the last place I want to go hang out is in the stupid hospital. I am beyond tired of being in it for whatever reason! But thanks so much for letting me know! Tavia
