What to know a secret?

Hi all! My husband, Dennis, is going for a consult to my surgeon about the Lap-Band. Is that fabulous? Shhhh!! Do not tell him I told "you" until he "announces" it. I am so proud and love my husband so much! You guys know how wonderful he is anyway. He deserves to be happy and healthy more than ANYONE I know. Take care everyone! Tavia

Darlene, My husband has been the most supportive person. He has become my advocate and does most of the grunt work for me. He says he doesnt want anymore stress/pressure put on me than already is. He deals w/making the dr. appts for me. He speaks to the surgeon and/or my PCP at least once a week. The insurance company is giving us a headache lately and he deals with them not me. When I am in the hospital he becomes my private duty nurse. It is too funny(and sad) when I am in the hospital. The nurses and aids all know my husband by his first name. He takes my chart and reads it like he is Dr. Husband or something. My husband is just super friendly and makes friends everywhere he goes. You should see me I get annoyed when it takes my husband 15 minutes to get me ice chips b/c he stopped and was talking to whoever. You can say he makes his presence known. He is wonderful like that. That is a good secret, no? Shhhh!! Tavia

Carol, My husband knows a lot of my the bypass, which is the reason he doesnt want it! Not b/c of my complications but b/c he just doesnt want it. He feels more comfortable w/the band. To each is own. I guess its the same reason I didnt feel the band is for me. Thanks for the sweet words, you are so super! Tavia

Hi Tavia, That's wonderful news--You husband has been there for you--and now that you are getting better --it's his turn to get healthy and to look good. Gee, I wish that my husband would consider the surgery--He needs it--it would help his health in so many ways. Well --maybe I can get him to read Dennis' posts , and he'll see the light!
