For those of you who have already had surgery were you given a beta blocker to take a week prior to surgery. I had my pre op testing done yesterday and was told to start Metoprolol 2x's daily until day of surgery? Just wondering if this is normal??? Kelly

Do you have high blood pressure? That's what a beta blocker is used for. Joanne

No, I don't have high blood pressure. I do however have a family history of it. Maybe that's why I have to take it???

Nope.......i had Dr.O'Malley.........no beta blocker for me......Oh but your gonna love him....................
