...and I haven't even had surgery yet! Arrgh! I am feeling so frustrated! I have lost approximately 28 out of the 30 pounds I am required to lose pre op. I am following the diet to a tee, exercising 5 days a week, drinking all my water, staying low on sodium...I even cut out all breads, pasta, potatoes, rice from my diet for a while...the weight is creeping off and it seems when I lose any weight I gain it back! All I want to do is get to this darned goal so I can schedule surgery, but it seems my body is totally resistant to weight loss. I've been down this road so many times before and eventually gave up, gained all the weight back and then some....I don't want that to happen this time. I have two stinking pounds to go! Thanks for listening to my frustrated rant! Amy

Amy, Hun please don't give up....you can do this and then you will have your surgery date. ~hugs~ Just keep doing what you are doing hun and remember when you exercise you might be adding muscle which weighs more so give it some time to let your body catch up. Hang in there hun and keep us posted, you will be having surgery before you know it... Debra P

Hi Amy, I feel for you--this is just a suggestion--but perhaps that two pounds is resistant because you feel pressured to lose it??? Why don't you discuss it with your surgeon --or his bariatric nurse coordinator?? Perhaps they will go ahead and schedule the date (it is only two pounds) . Once you feel the pressure is off--I'll bet that those two pounds melt right off--and then some! You will stop feeling that negative energy from your subconscious--I always start saying affirmations when I feel a plateau coming on! You are eating right and you are exercising therefore the weight IS MELTING AWAY!!!You are getting thinner each and every day! and you know that you can't help but lose weight.Don't be frustrated--it is an absolute positive conclusion that you are losing every day--I also suggest that you read a book the I live by--The power of the subconscious mind--by Dr. Joseph Murphy. It helps with all phases of life--the power of scientific prayer! It DOES work! Be Blessed (and I am saying a prayer right now that you are losing that pesky two pounds--in fact I am praying that you drop four pounds --two for good measure!!!) Thank you all for your supportive words and encouragement. Marian, I do think there is something to not concentrating too much, or the power of positive thinking...Lisa, you are absolutely right that OH is a place to come and vent and I am so grateful for it and for all of your responses. Debra, you have been so sweet and supportive and we've never even met! I'm so grateful. I'll keep you posted. Hugs, Amy
