I GOT A DATE!!!!

Hi everyone, Hope all is well with everyone! Just wanted to share my news!! I got a date to get my arms lifted!! I'm so excited! I will be having surgery on Feb 20th at 10:30... I chose Dr. Pfiefer in Great Neck... after seeing a bunch of different surgeons I think she is an amazing person and actually listened and answered all my questions.... she didnt tell me what I wanted to hear, she told me like it is.... I was disappointed in a few surgeons, not going to mention names....but there is one in particular that I'm disgusted about... i thought he was good until I compared him to the others... not only did he charge a 150 fee for the consult but he rushed me out of the office and after seeing a few other dr's I realized that he was telling me what I wanted to hear... So just to let everyone who is planning on getting PS done... make sure you check a few surgeons out... and compare answers... there are alot of dr's who just want to make $$ off of you and dont care about you as a person!! I know now im rambling!! Just excited and scared at the same time! Gia

Gia, YEAH I am so happy for you... I know you have been wanting this.. Good you say something hun and I hear from reading around the boards that if a Dr charges for a consult then that should be the first sign that something is not right? Maybe some other people can offer some insight into that.... You will have to take before and after pics to share... Take care Debra P

Hey Gia, Sorry to hear about the bad surgeon experiences. Trust me I know how some doctors can be complete morons. Can you email me the name of the surgeons you saw and which ones you liked/disliked? Thanks so much. I'll keep your info in the back of my mind if one day I would be interested in PS. (look at me fishing for another surgery!) You can get some names of good plastic surgeons (or any good doctor for that matter) on this new york mag. webpage. Its a very informative search engine for getting names of doctors. http://www.newyorkmetro.com/bestdoctors/ I have heard a Dr. Leipziger is a good plastic surgeon. I am pretty sure he continously on the new york mag. list of best doctors every year. He is the PS our surgeon recommends for their WLS patients. He is the chief of plastic surgery at North Shore-manhasset. He is on a lot of lists of being a good PS. I dont know if you met w/him or not. Anyway, Joanne on here had her tummy tuck by him, so I am sure she can give you more info about him if you want it. Good luck! Tavia

Can I ask how much Weight did you loose? And do you know if a lot of people end up having this done? Beth Wyckoff

Hi Beth, I have lost 100 lbs so far and am happy with my weight right now. I think I want to lose another 10-15 lbs... My surgeon and the other surgeons said that my arms arent really going to change anymore unless I lose a drastic amount of weight, which I dont plan on doing. My next step is to try and tone up. I want to get a TT and Breast lift, but I want to have at least 1 more child, so i'm going to wait for that... Gia
