Hi all, I just wanted to let you know I had my first weigh in yesterday since starting the Medifast a week ago . I lost 4 lbs ! I wanted and was sooo hoping that it would be more then that , but the nurse said that was great considering I just started ! I kid you not it has been really hard to give up that food and only drink shakes instead ! I did cave on the fourth day and eat a pickle ! But I have not touched anything since ! Hopefully this week I will lose more then 4 lbs but I guess any loss is a good thing ! Oh and I thought it was 38 lbs I had to lose before getting the surgery but I found out yesterday it is 33 lbs ! So 29 lbs to go !!!! and :kiss, Carol

Carol, YEAH you are only 29 lbs away from surgery. Congrats on your weight loss hun, that is great. I have to give you so much credit, WOW to not eat anything but those shakes that is so good! I am not sure if I could do that or not....but then again before surgery I would have done anything to get myself approved. It will be over before you know it and you will be a loser with the rest of us. Debra P

Debra, As always Thanks for such great support ! I know you could do it ! Hell, if I can anyone can ! You are right , those of us that really want this surgery will do just about anything it takes to get approved ! I figure if this is what it takes then I will do it ! It is hard but it is only for 8 weeks then I will get my surgery and will be able to eat again ! Well, at least some pureed cottage cheese or anything pureed sounds like a gourmet dinner to me right now !!! Thanks again Deb !!! You are such a good friend ! and , Carol

Carol, Congratulations! Sounds like you are determined to make this change. This will go a long way for you after surgery. It is difficult to stay on all liquids, but with determination, and knowing why you are doing it, it will be easier to stick to it. It is hard to imagine but that little bit you are drinking now will be too much after surgery. It is well worth all the sacrifice you are making now. Keep us posted, but don't get discouraged if you do not loose 4 lbs again next week. Mary L

Mary, Thanks for your support ! Yes, I am very determined to do this and I do hope that this does help me in the use of my new tool after surgery . I was just thinking lastnight about what you said about what little bit I am taking in now will be too much after surgery. It is hard to imagine! So I figured I should set my mind to the fact that what I am actually taking in now.... is alot !! I will try not to get discouraged if I don't lose at least 4 lbs. by next weigh in . But , to be totally honest I probably will as I want so much to get that 10% off as quickly as possible ! I will continue to keep plugging along though no matter what ! Thanks again Mary ! and , Carol
