Snacking
Lisa:
I had RNY not lap band but I think no matter what eating carbs for many triggers hunger for more carbs (sweets).
I find for me that if I follow the philosophy in the south beach diet book I am less hungry and have fewer cravings. Try reading up on it and see if doable for you. I do not believe in diets but lifestyles. For me cutting the white carbs (potatoes/rice/pasta/bread/cake/cookies etc) helps. I focus on lean protein first (fills me up) and veggies/fruits lower on Glycemic index. Drinking lots of water also helps me. It takes me 3-5 days to detox off these things when I go through some headaches etc but once I am off them I feel so much better and the wt drops too!
Or try a piece of SF candy of sf gum? I find fruit very sweet now, like an apple, strawberries etc. we have to retrain our brain and tastebuds!
Wishing you the best w/ your tool!

I fully agree with the other post!
THOSE cakes and sweets are evil. THEY trigger
us to crave more and more. YOU need to work hard
and break that cycle.....
PERHAPS find a healthy sweet treat to fill in this need:
SOMETHING i am having now that i saw on the board
was slice in half a power crunch bar (triple chocolate)
smooth in some fat free cool whip, close up and freeze.
THATS a treat that satisfies my cravings during PMS!
ITS not easy but you have to take control. ONE sweet
leades to another and another. I wont eat that stuff
for that reason! GOOD LUCK....but try to find protein
sweet snacks that satisfy you and dont trigger that
snow ball effect!
GOOD LUCK

Lisa,
I too agree with the others, try some more protein. Protein is more filling as we digest it in our stomach. Those carbs get digested in our mouths so by time they reach our stomach there is not much left, and you can eat more carbs than protein. Also, if you really still feel hungry maybe you need a fill. Everyone is different, but the girls I know with the banding who have had a problem did better after a fill.
Good luck and hang in there! See how much better you look, and you do not want to go back where you started.
