I have pains coming from the tip of my head down to my pinky toes! But who cares. I sure don't. No pain, no gain! Anyway, I see my husband posted that I am home and doing ok. I started to run a little fever today but not high. I am going to sleep on it and see how it is in the morning. I am suppose to call the surgeon on monday so if I do not have any other symptoms I will wait until I speak with him. I also see him on friday so whatever. I am so glad to be out of there. I was starting to lose it given how many times I have been in there. I also see my husband told you about the nature of the obstruction I had at my Y-connection. Of course, I have problems other people have and problems no one has had. Good to know. I know the surgeons secretly love it! j/k...i think. My scar now is pretty non-existent, it looks amazing and it is only how many days old? It is really tiny and thin. You should see the surgeon, he is so proud of himself. I told him he should take pictures of it and hang them up on his wall. Please. On the other hand, I have not gone to the bathroom and developed gastric distress after the surgery. The surgeon told me when he was in me he noticed my my colon was full of you know what. The gas they put through your intestines during surgery is still in me and I am walking around with my small and large bowels infilated like balloons. The surgeon gave me stuff in the hospital to make that it all pass but nothing. He even tried pressing really hard on me to make something come out but nothing. What a sight that was. My body doesnt want to cooperate and I do not blame it. My mind is one thing, my body is another. I feel like jabba the hut walking around all this gas and poop in me. I have tried everything from MOM, fiber pills, gas x., pills in the behind, miralax etc and nothing is working. I think i just need time. Oh well, it will come out one way or another. I also see that Dennis mentioned this girl we met in the hospital. Wow, this girl has had so many problems, most life-threatening, but she keeps on going. She has been there for a couple of months and its unknown when she will go home. She is actually in my "old room". She's a nice girl and doesn't deserve to suffer. They are trying and she is trying and that is all anyone can do given the situation. Still sucks though. I told her I am living proof that it does get better, sometimes it takes awhile, but it does get better. Anyway, thanks so much for all of your nice posts/emails they truly do mean ALOT. Keeping positive is really the thing that keeps me going, you know? Take care. Tavia

Glad to hear from you Tavia. I am sure you will start feeling better soon, and just keep getting better everyday. Be careful with not being able to poop. That happened to me after I had surgery for an ectopic pregnancy, and I had to go back in the hospital for an enema. Feel better, and keep in touch. SH

Hi Tavia!!! I sooo glad that you posted with a personalized update. You are one heck of a spirit! With all of that stuff in you, you will one of the best potty stops ever once everything gets moving. (personally I'm still using glycolax, stool softener and ho****er drinks in the early am...the iron is constipating) Take good care of yourself and take it easy. I'm very happy for you and your husband and hope that everything is 100% better from here on. Sincerely, LindaM

Tavia: Glad to have you posting again. I am sorry that your struggling with issues still... I know your in good hand from what you say @ your surgeon. DO NOT be reluctant to wait to call about the fever (I don't know how high it is or if your on pain meds that may lower it and it may be even higher than the reading)..sometimes it is normal but others it is the FIRST SIGN of a problem (we don't want u going septic on us now!)... The lazy bowel is concerning too, not sure HOW long it has been? If I recall you were our of surgery 5-6 days ago? *OK I AM A NURSE SO I get worried sometimes with things like this* but I think about an obstruction. I know my surgeon doesn't let his NEW RNYs home until we 'pass gas' to make sure we do not have an obstruction (or our intestines forgot to wake up so to speak)... http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000260.htm look to this link..complications of abdominal surgery can cause obstruction, infection in peritoneal cavity can cause obstruction, kinks, twists etc....or Intussusception involves a telescoping of one portion of the intestine into another, which results in decreased blood supply of the involved segment can happen...If it has been 5-6 days I'D be worried (but thats me). WISHING you well...and that things start MOOVING soon! Tavia: I don't mean to do that at all, I am just a believer in education/knowledge being tool for power/success & wanting people to be healthy/safe. Glad the fever is gone and bowels are moving. Jamie

Hey Lady, I am so happy to hear that you are home. Not suprised that you are doing so well. Also not suprised that you would focus your attention on SOMEONE ELSE a girl you just met when you just went through all this hell , but thats you ....not the least bit selfish, always thinking about other people. I want to be you when i grow up! You just keep getting better because we have a lot of things to do this summer with the kids as soon as the weather gets better. Keep up the good work. Talk to you soon. And OMG we had the party last night for my 14 year old son. A room full of 14 year olds. I dont ever remember dancing the way i saw these kids dancing....God help me i have 3 more kids that will be teenagers one day........LisaMarie
