I'm in, I think?

OK this is whats been up the past week. I faxs over my new Insru cards back on the 9th i called the office and they said they got them. Well i called a week later and talk to the lady in the Dr. Office that is taking care of the paper work (Debbie, really nice lady) she tells me that she doesn't have my card (Pissed me off to holy hell ) She had me fax them over again and i talk to her she got them (this was last tuesday) I called her on Thurday to see what was up, she had just faxed my paper work to blue cross. Today (monday)i call blue cross just to nag them and to make sure that got everything, the guy puts me on hold for 10 min and comes back...... I'M IN, I GOT APPROVED I was really happy for a min then thought about it, (I have a habit of over thinking things ALOT) I wonder if he read the wrong line on the computer or something and i'm getting all happy for no reason. So thats were i am now, on the phone they told me i'm in, but until they tell the Dr. Office and i get something in writing I'm going to keep it to myself and not get too happy

Dwight: I think it is great your being a consumer of your own healthcare and following up on things! I agree it is shocking and many of us were in 'disbelief' when we had that call or knowledge! Good Job Kenny! Congrats on your approval and your persistence. I have 6 pounds of pre op required wt loss to go (out of 30) and then I get to haggle with insurance for approval too! I'll use you as my role model! Smiles, Amy

hun, I also over think things... I would call back again and talk to someone else to see if I got the same info. I knew before my Dr's office did so go figure. They told me NOT to call it might slow things down but I just had to......GOOD thing because I never got that "your approved" phone call. I called the office to make sure I was approved for the surgery and not just the hospital stay, that is when they confirmed I was approved. So I say call the Ins Comp again to make sure, but then again that is just me I can make myself crazy over these kinds of thing. Well CONGRATS on your approval hun... Congrats Dwight, I know, its hard to believe some times, but isn't it exciting. If you have BCBS Excellus I am sure you are good to go. That is what I have and I found out in 4 days after my Dr. submitted it to them. Do you have a date yet? You will think the time will take forever to get here, then all of a sudden you will realize holy cow its time already boy that went fast. Before you know it you will be a loser!!! Take Care, Shannon
