Help with a question
Hi Karen, I'm finally getting that "full" feeling and I'm 3 months out! The first few weeks after surgery, I used to measure out 3 ounces by using a 3 ounce cup. I would try to eat as much of that as possible and I knew I wasn't going over since it was a measured amount. I'm only know starting to feel "full" or "hungry" so it could take a while for you too!
Vi
I did just what Vi did. I never felt full, but I never felt hungry either. I ate because it was meal time. I measured everything and learned what that full feeling felt like - as opposed to eating too fast or not chewing enough. I was also surprised that my little three ounces of - whatever - cottage cheese or something - would take me as long to eat as the whole meal my family was eating! It actually still takes me a long time to eat, because you must chew, chew, chew and it helps to put your spoon or fork down between bites.
Good luck - you are doing awesome!

Karen:
How much are you eating? I was on liquds 2 weeks then soft foods 1-2T at 2 weeks out...The fullness is usally in breastbone area like u ate thanksgiving (that is actually signal youate too much and should of stopped prior) you may get fulll once u r on solider foods.. as mushies can slide thru pouch...I guess learn to eat for health now and not hunger (although sadlyit returns for most of us at some point)..HUGS!

Karen,
I remember that feeling and I would just eat until I felt I had enough, sometimes I just got tired of eating because you have to go so slow and I stopped. I guess about 4 -6 weeks out if wen I started to get used to what the full feeling was and tried to not go there but eat just enough to keep me happy. You will learn hun, it take some time.
Take care
