Hi all, Well, what a week I had last week. The whooshie fairy came to visit me and according to my non-digital scale I lost 6 lbs. Amazing how that stuff happens. I also spoke with Dr. Monica Ganz (Thank you so much) and she told me that I should be getting no less than 100 gr of protein a day. Well, I stepped up the protein and low and behold I started to lose again. I also have more energy and am sleeping better at night. Very good all the way around. I spoke with one of my best friends over the weekend and my newest goal is to run a 5k in the first weekend of October, right around my 47th birthday. Daryle has been a marathon runner for quite some time and she is incredible. She said she will send me a training schedule and that by October I should have no problem with a 5k run, she actually said I should be able to surpass it. I do not want to compete with anyone, I just want to do it and finish. Every year I stand on the sidelines and wish I was fit enough to do it...this year I will not be on the sidelines. I've had some emotional issues to try to deal with lately. Nothing new for me...sometimes I think I'm a real head case . It's incredible how different people treat you when you start to become a normal size. Men especially. I actually have men open the door for me now. Men opened the door before, but would never smile or even look at me. Now men actually talk to me. I'm not quite sure how to deal with the attention. On one hand it's kind of cool, but on the other hand it's REALLY scary to me. I'm not sure if I want to like it. Weird I know. A friend told me that I should just smile and enjoy it and then know that I'm coming home to the best man in the world. She's right, but I'm just not comfortable when someone asks me if I'm single yet. It doesn't help that my wedding rings are at the jewelers being sized to fit me. I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. My sister Tammy is doing great. She has lost around 78 lbs, so between the two of us we have lost more than I weigh now. How cool is that. Well I guess that's my blog for the day. I hope you have a great week. Take care...love to all Debra 240/158/125

Debra, Congrats on the nice weight drop. I was staying around 40-70 but maybe I will try to increase it and see what happens. Hun that is great about doing the run, awesome that this year you will be IN it and not jus****ching it. Sometime was have to stop and take a look at what we have done with this weight loss because I think when it happens rather quickly our minds just don't grasp all we have done. Well take care hun ~hugs~ Debra P

Thanks Debra. I agree it sure does take the mind some time to catch up to the body. My runner friend is going to hook me up with a program. She's an awesome coach. Just wish she lived here in NY and not in Maryland. But she's a great coach nonetheless. I'm looking forward to really moving. All my best, and hugs to you my friend...Deb

Congrats on your progress! How are you getting the 100 grams of protein in? I have trouble eating more than a couple of ounces at a time, so I started supplementing with 3 protein shakes a day and now I get about 100-120 grams a day, but I can't imagine doing it with food right now. I'm going through this phase where I hate most food, thank goodness I found a protein shake I like! But for when I finally find food appealing, I'd love some ideas on what you eat! Vi

Hi Vi, I cannot possibly get it in with just food. I've been using a couple protein drinks a day that have at least 20 gr each and I mix them with skim milk for an additional 8 gr. It's really hard to reach that 100 gr, but I'm trying. So far I've hit 80 a few times. I guess we can only do our best. All the best, Deb
