Now if only I could figure out how to drink 143 oz a day when I'm still struggling as a post op with the 64 oz!
Vi
Hiya Vi,
If I sat around all day (except for the 30 minutes of exercise I put in the calculator) and did nothing but drink water, I don't know if I could succeed with their recommendations! Cool idea though I feel totally accomplished when I get all my 64 oz in a day (and I'm pre op! )
Anway, hope all is well in your world. I am trying to follow my therapist's advice and find more ways to have fun. I never knew that could be so challenging!!!
Hugs,
Amy
Hey Vi - this was very interesting, but the weight max was 299! I guess they don't think people who weigh more need water. Anyway, IF I weighed 299 instead of 325 ish, I would need to drink 155 ounces of water. YIKES! I get in the 64, sometimes even a little more, but I can't even see where I could add more water. Well, I'll work on it, maybe if I had an IV or something (LOL).
Hope all is well.
Hugs,
Robin

Thanks for sharing this! Cool..
It tells me 117.5 oz day I get that and some! I do usually 16 cups fluid day (at least 64 oz PURE water) and the rest is decaf/herbal tea and crystal lite/diet koolaids.... I think fluid loading is another key to my success postop. I can and have had up to 30 cups in a day at one point but don't recommend it as water intoxication can be an issue. See if i am hungly i fluid load first at least a cup. I drink up to eating and wait now 1 usually 2 hrs after I eat to drink. I NEVER had anissue with drining even early postop ****il 4 wk out i had my stricture)...but alas i can gulp/guzzle w/o issue I KNOW this is not the case with many! SHooting for 64 oz is a great goal...anything else is bonus! HUGS!
I can drink 20 o z in 5 min ..I sip on way to work in gym I do 4 cups water (60 min) sometimes 2x that ifrunning on treadmill and doing 2 hr in gym.... Fluid helps me feelsatisfied and doesnt have calories!

A couple of weeks after my surgery an "old-timer" told me not to be afraid to swallow more than a sip and that helped me, but I never got close to 64 oz until I was about 2 months out. It just wasn't happening no matter what I tried. I'm 3 months out now and I barely make it, but then again, I can only manage about 1-2 oz of food at a time too.
Try drinking warm tea? I'm not a tea drinker, but I can drink warm stuff faster than cool or room temperature water.
