Hey there my friends. How's everyone doing tonight? I'm feeling completely better after my weekend discomfort. As many of you suggested it was most likely a very bad gas attack. I have gone back to being much more careful about what I eat and have decided to try tofu. I have been looking for some recipes. Anybody have any ideas? I know it's got lots of protein and is a great meat alternative. I just don't know what to do with the stuff! Thanks for any input! Robin

I'm glad you posted this because I was saying last night that I need some tofu recipes too! I have a block of it in the fridge and I don't have a clue what to do with it either!

Hi Vi, I found a couple of websites (but I haven't checked them out yet): http://www.tofu.com, or http://www.vegetariantimes.com I bought some last week and want to start using it. I'll let you know if I find something I like. Robin

Hi Robin, Glad to hear you're feeling better! Tofu is a very easy food to cook. It picks up the flavor of anything you cook it with. If you're looking for a cold dish, you can cube it and mix it with some chopped red pepper and peas and pesto for a lovely salad. I don't know how that works in a pouch since I don't have one yet, but....also you can stir fry it with soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, onions and any other veggies you like. You can ma**** up (get soft tofu) and put it in most any sauce and you'll barely know its there. One warning, sometimes tofu can make you gassey too. Especially because often its cooked with veggies. I often google foods to find new recipes on the internet.... Hope this helps! Hugs, Amy

Hi Amy, Thanks so much! I will have to do a google search, but I like the idea of the stir fry with the soy, onions, garlic etc. - that sounds yummy. Robin

Hi Robin. I eat tofu but i never cook it. I only like one brand, i have tried others and they taste terrible to me. Its nosoya extra firm. I eat it with whatever else i am having but i just cut it into pieces and eat cold. Good luck! LisaMarie

Hey there LisaMarie, Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea where I can get the nosoya? I'd be interested in trying it and cold/cut up works for me! Robin

Hi Robin, i get mine at the supermarket, its with the veggies usually. Just make sure you get the extra firm Nosoya, if you are going to eat it cold . I shop at Shop Rite, Gristides and Dagastinos. Let me know what you think!Have a great night...

Hi Kenny, If I find any, I'll let you know. I'm going to try some of Amy's ideas. Especially the stir fry - that sounds really good. Plus I heard that there are already flavored kinds that you don't need to do anything to. I'm going to go to Trader Joes (there's one near my office in CT) and see what they've got. I'll keep you posted. Robin
