Need help with Protein Drinks
Kim:
If you continue to "ENJOY" these DRINKS your making you may stall wt loss eventually and possibly GAIN (and not to mention trigger hunger due to sheer carb/sugar grams your consuming!)
CIB (Everyone knows my soapbox... I hate the CIB aka Crap In a Box even NSA has sugar and very very little protein and the 4 measly grams it has is not the kind we need or can absorb well! same w/ milk)
The CIB is:
70 cal
12g carbs (7g sugar carbs)
4 g protein (from milk protein)
0.5g fat
~~~~~~~
Milk (if skim)
~90 cal
0g fat
8g protein
12-13g carbs (all sugar even though it is NATURAL body doesn't care)
~~~~~~~
1 scoop flavorless protein (aprox not sure brand I will use anywhey)
70 calories
0g fat
1g carbs (0g sugar carbs)
17 g protein (*the kind we need whey predigested! and probably all the protein you'll get out of this total drink...)
TOTAL:
___________
~230 calories
~
The rest got cut off?
Anyways most whey proteins (predigested) are 120 cal 0-3g fat 0-3g carbs and 23g prtoein a much better suppliment option seeing as we need 1-3 a day for life! and there are great flavored ones out there! PVL is my fav whey gourmet www.bethsproteinboutique.com has samples.
just consider many postops are lactose intolerant the milk/CIB would kill em!
The sugar is double what most programs recommend in a serving of food...if u dont dump ok, but are u desensitizing self to sugar so u wont? (oh I hope not!) and sugar makes many crave more and hungry..so drinking these non necessary cal in long run is a tool defeater (IMHO) I am just giving u some points to ponder. What I think is just that my opinion based on my research and body at 3+ yrs out! And my labs of course.. the true test!
I wish everyone the best! Jamie

Hi! Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! I am sorry to hear about your "dumping". Try to find a whey protein with Stevia as an ingredient as others have suggested. I understand they come in several flavors.
I am about 5 1/2 months out and my nutritionist/dietician told us to use only Whey Protein with Stevia. I have tried one made by PureForm and it is great. I also contacted a health food store and can purchase Stevia, which can be used in baking and cooking, there.
Hope this helps. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
