Treadmill Day!
Goodmorning NY....Wow what a change in weather as i open my eyes. Its kind of depressing. I was enjoying going out with the kiddies all week in the nicer weather. I really hate winter, i cant wait till summer. Anyway what is everyone else doing today to get some exercise in? I am so happy i purchased my treadmill this week i am so addicted. I feel great when i get off. Well thats it for now....Stay dry and have a great day....LisaMarie

Hi Lisa!
I was thinking about buying a treadmill for when everything is said and done w/me. Do you have a link or the name of the one you purchased?
Thanks so much!
Hi Tavia
I actually got my treadmill at Modells....We found one we really liked. It was marked $299 so we were like cool. THen the guy at the store said thats a mistake its normally $500 on sale for $400. I was like well its marked in 2 places $299. So the manager gave it to us for $299. IT works great it an everlast. I really was not willing to spend $600-$700 on one that is more fancy. This one gives me miles, time, pulse, calories burned and lets me customize my settings has several incline settings. ITs really a nice one. I used it for 45 min today....ITs good because i can do it and keep my eyes on the kiddies .......Hope you are feeling good...its almost time for you.
Hi Lisa! Yea the weather was great. It really kinda snaps you into the spring mode, even though we know it isn't going to last.It was 63 yesterday here in Rochester.well today my Daughter and I are going to the YMC for a dip in the pool.I just do water exercise and enjoy myself. My knees hurt so much from the extra weight it makes it hard for me to do much walking. But on the up side I went to the doctor this week and she perscribed me an anti inflamatory b/c the pain was really getting to me.I'm feeling much better already.this perscription(piroxicam) is really hard on the stomach,so I don't want to keep taking it in chances of messing up my stomach before I get surgery. Sounds like your doing great.Getting addicted to exercise is a good thing!!!! well gotta do some laundry before we go for a dip.Have a grat day! Darlene
LisaMarie:
Glad u got the healthy lifestyle/exercise bug!!!
For the 4 months pre surgery I walked everyday 2 miles outside (be it a slow 20-25 min mile but I did it), this helped form some habits and helped me lose my required 10% (I lost 15% actually)...I continued that postop, when weather bad I did Leslie Sansones walk off the pounds 1,2 or 3 mile videos. I had a treadmill but couldn't use it until I weighed under 275# (which was day of surgery actually!) so I'd start that also, gradually increasing speed/incline. Worked out also with my CORE Stability ball & Video. (think internet, or rent from video store or check library)....I had surgery Oct 2002, by April 2003 I NEEDED more to tone etc. So I joined curves, kept my 2mi day up did curves 3x week, then went to daily 2 mi walks on treadmill at 4mph/6% incline and curves 6x week. Did that for 2 yrs, until I was BORED OUTTA my skull so to speak and reached my max potential benefit from curves I beleive (loved it but I outgrew it)....So I joined a Pilates class 2 nights/week $34 for 8 weeks from local adult continuing ed through the High School. WOW I thought I was in shape until I did that for 2 hrs 2x week! I loved it but wowza! Finally Hubby said his employment had a full service gym (wts, balls, circuit, Treadmills, Ellipticals, bikes, recumbant bikes, wt, punching bag etc) for FREE! (I was looking into local gyms $300-$500 ur!) SO I started that this past April and LOVE IT! I needed to change up things...I do cardio 30-60 min daily and wts/circuit 3-4x week...so I go at least 1 hr daily up to 2 hr on w/e...
Works for me, NOW I worry about real bad snow if I cant get to gym my treadmill (PRoform) went kaput a while back (from daily use as I had started running on it! YEah whouldathunk me running!) so now I have nuttin..I am looking into a Elliptical to have in case....IU do have the windsor pilats DVDs so in a pinch thats ok and leslies walk away the pounds... I think for me exercise is the key to my success so far, it is my emotional stress relief, it keeps me focused, strong and the wt off, I still like to eat ya know! (LOL)...Variety helps....challenge self as u go on this journey. I love exercsie BECAUSE I CAN DO IT NOW! SO I take every opportunity to do so! (OK I dont love getting up at 430am but I do it, it has to be part of my lifestyle)....
