Kathleen: It is near impossible to EAT enought protein at this point..That is the beauty of the whey protein shakes...predigested and you can drink them! I'd recommend if RNY proxie 3 a day now.. need samples? Try: www.vitalady.com or www.bethsproteinboutique.com or www.wlssupplies.com I personally like the PVL whey gourmets (beth has) and the champion pure whey stack cho or banana, nectars are ok too (koolaidy like) http://www.sabariatric.com/diet.php http://www.sabariatric.com/assets/forms/GBP_diet.pdf above 2 are good links to look at! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Then soft protein foods: Cottage cheese Ricotta cheese (mix w;/ all sorts of things lemon zest/extract,yes warmed w/ tom sauce is good as others said _______________________ recipes w/ cottage or ricotta cheeses: If you like cottage cheese, try adding a little unsweetened jello to 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and let it chill a few hours or over night. I love this for breakfast with orange jello. I use about 1/4 teaspoon of jello powder. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peanut Butter-Chocolate Ricotta Crème Two servings. 1 cup low fat or part-skim ricotta cheese 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 or 3 packets Splenda 1/2 to 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter 1/2 to 1 tablespoon baking cocoa (or 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar-free chocolate syrup) Mix as desired, put in 2 serving dishes, chill, and serve. If using chocolate syrup, you can pour on top instead of mixing in, if desired. ~~~~~~~~~~ Mock Oatmeal 1/2 C Ricotta Cheese 1 pk. splenda 1 egg 1 cap maple flavoring Mixing. together and microwave 1min 30 sec to 2 min, stirring after 1 minute. The maple smell is wonderful. The texture looks kind of funky, but it tastes good, and is a great protein breakfast that isn't just EGGS! ------------------------------------------------------------ Mock Grits 1/2 C Ricotta Cheese 1 egg Shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt and butter to taste. Make in the same way as the Mock Oatmeal. ------------------------------------------------------------ Mock Danish 1 egg 1 oz. cream cheese 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 pks splenda cinnamon to taste spray oil Spray small skillet. Beat egg and 1 pk. splenda. Cook over med. heat. Do not stir--let cook. If the middle doesn't cook through, you may flip. (One pan I have to flip, the other I don't?!) Mix cream cheese, splenda, and vanilla. When egg is done, spread mix over egg and roll up. Sprinkle any leftover mix and cinnamon on top. It is like a dessert! ------------------------------------------------------------ Mock Cinnabon 1/2 C. cottage cheese 1 pkt. splenda tsp cinnamon few pecans Blend with fork. Put in microwave to take off chill. You have to close your eyes and just focus on the cinnamon flavor. -------------------------------------------------------------- Laughing cow light cheese (comes in a round and cut into perfect wedges) locarb yogurt tuna/chicken/seafood/shrimp pureed in a mini food processor w/ some mayo for a pate so to speak soft scrambled egg (watch it eggs can be hard protein to digest) not for everyone though cheese stick maybe??? cremecheese peanutbutter? baby foood some do andlike it? make a broth and add some potted meat to it... some add milk powder to things (I am not great advocate of longterm but an idea...) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I agree add flavorless whey protein to foods...it is called anywhey is sold at GNC I beleive or online www/netrition.com and can be cooked and baked with w/o destroying the protein integrity! add it to a bullion broth or a cup of soup strained..some add to their decaf coffee! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Someone told me about these protein soups: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/proteindiet/creamstylesoup.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Low Carb Peanut Butter Cookies Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup Splenda 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla Stir and make into 16 large cookies or more small ones. Bake at 350 degrees for around 10-12 minutes depending on size--cookies will brown on edges.... 2 cookies are similar to a protein bar (190 calories, 5-7 grams carbs, and 8 gram--ok, a weak protein bar--of protein). These are soft and chewy cookies that melt in your mouth. ~~~~~~~~ ENJOY! AT your stage of pureed the only way is thru protein shakes added. MAKE sure all your meals are protein loaded. I enjoyed homemade chicken salad at that stage, ricotta cheese and mozzerella cheese w/ little bit red sauce in mirrowave....always protein conscious GOOD LUCK feel well lisa

Lisa and Darlene, I just feel so dumb when it comes to this stuff. You can read up as much and as long as you need but it is not the same when you come home. Kathleen
