I have been exercising since the beginning of January...and I know that this can slow the wieght loss down, but I have not lost any wieght at all. Not 1 pound. I'm not putting any wieght on, but I would have thought that I would show at least a little loss by now. I have lost 46 pounds since surgery 2 months ago. Will this pass? I'm getting a bit discouraged about this. I see my Dr. next month and hopefully I'm losing inches instead of losing the pounds. Help!

I had my surgery a month before you and I went through a period (around the same time as you are now) where I didn't lose for about 6 weeks! But all of a sudden it started dropping like crazy for a while, and now it's back to a couple of pounds here and there, so I guess it all catches up. I also work out (been going to the gym since I was 2 weeks out). Vi

BONNIE: HI! Congrats on loss so far! Exercise WILL NOT slow wt loss dear YOU NEED It to rev metabolism, build muscle and help you burn fat! DONT stop that!!!! What u r experiencing is most likely hibernation syndrome....OR a plateau. IF you do one thing do this: THROW THE SCALE AWAY! It will make u crazy! Weigh weekly AT MOST! Wt loss is individual so many thing effect it. We can influence our wt with diet/exercise but the body is in charge it drops when it wants to! Right now the body is realizing it isnt getting fed, it is CONSERVING..redistributing and hanging on for dear life..IT WILL drop, IT WILL WORK, just focus on this journey as developing lifestyle habits to succeed, the wt loss is a bonus! This isnt a race I say to all newbies...its about developing the thing u willneeed to maintain this loss the tool helps but you will need to do work also! I wish you well. keep doing the basics (water, exercise, protein first, vits) and well look to other measures such as measurements, photos, how do clothes fit, how do u feel etc. HUGS!
