Popcorn
Good morning.
Yesterday I asked a question in Deb's "What Did You Eat" note regarding popcorn. Several of you responded and I thank you for that. I did try some popcorn last night and had no problem. I do not care for microwave popcorn so I made it stovetop, little bit of oil, no butter or salt. It tasted a little bland but was so nice and crunchy. The only problem I had was how many kernals to pop. No (lol) - I did not count them as I poured them into the pan so therefore, I have enough for at least one more night. I just filled my little bowl (compared to the big one I used to use) and before I sat down to eat it, put the rest in a zip lock baggie. I was so satisfied.
Thanks again for all the wonderful ideas you all have and for sharing them.
Have a great day.

Cindee,
That is great that you had THAT control and was able to put the rest away... It feels good right? That is why I like the small bags of SmartFood light popcorn that I get at Sam's club, this way that is ALL that I eat is that little bag and I am happy with that. I do not shy away from cooking with oil since we do not absort all the fat that we take in, I feel it is better for my skin and stuff. I jus****ch and try not to overdue it. and now that I am watching everything I love my salt so much more. it really helps with the taste of things.
Well take care and I am glad all went well....

Thanks Deb. It did feel good to have control but I knew that I needed to put it away or I might eat the entire thing and then I would probably feel sick. (If you know what I mean). There is a Sam's club right near my home so next time I'm there, I'll check out the SmartFood light popcorn. Actually, someone else told me that Wegman's sells it to. You mention salt - is it okay you use in moderation? I've been trying to stay away from adding salt just because but things would taste better with extra flavor.
Have a great Thursday.

Cindee,
Yes I only use it in moderation, sometime I do over due it and it helps when you make sure you get ALL your water in so it can flu**** out. I know that I have gained 1 -2 lbs because I has something with more salt in it but then the next following day it is gone but it can get frustrating so just be careful with it.

HMMM
interesting...POPCORN is the one of just few foods my pouch dont like.
EVERYTIME i had some i had such bloat and pain in the pouch and had to use gas x pills from it.
RATHER not have discomfort so stay off it now. TOOK a few trials to realize it was popcorn doing that. AND i would eat the lofat cheddar cheese popcorn and not feel to good after it go figure how different
our pouches are!
GOOD LUCK
LISA
