Plastic Surgery
Damn, I must have been quite fortunate. My insurance paid for a total abdominoplasty and an upper blepharoplasty [eyelids]. When I returned to work, they thought I looked like I had been on a month vacation! However, they would not pay for the lower bleph. That is something that cannot be made functional no matter what.
I applied for the procedure at about 14 months out. Good thing, because she was booked up for another 5 months. I was right on schedule and it gave me the time to finish losing a few more pounds.
I will be posting updated photos.
I am having mine done 1/25, my original GB was 1/17 so just over a year out.
Update on Plastic surgery costs.
My insurance approved a panniculectomy with a quick telephone appeal when they originally denied me the surgery.
So I decided to upgrade and do some other things at the same time.
Here is my quote:
Procedure: Belt Lipectomy; Bilateral Mastopexy; Bilateral Brachioplasty in conjunction with insurance approved Panniculectomy.
(My terms, Full circumfrence tummy tuck with muscle tightening, Boob lift and arm wings clipped) (Still have not decided if I want to get implants yet)
Surgical Fee: $11,500 - 1,150 (Multi procedure discount) = 10,350 (includes pre & post operative care)
Hospital & Anesthesia charges:
Facility 2,800, Anesthesia 1,352, Total 4,152.
Total charge out of pocket is 14,502.

i'm looking at some of the prices here for ps and they look really low. i was quoted $15,000 for a lbl and to get my lower eye lids done. this is with a discount. it's amazing how one doctor will charge $14000 for a lbl and another will charge $5000. plus i was quoted an additional $5800 for hospital & anesthesia.
