OT: General Surgeon/Oncologist Recommendations L.I.

My sister was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She was referred to Dr. Marie Chen who I believe is at Long Island Jewish. Anyone familiar with her? Anyone have any other recommendations for a second opinion? Or recommendations for an oncologist? Thanks, Kathy

Hi, Sorry to here about your sisters diagnosis with cancer. As a physician in NY I would recc going to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. They have the top cancer doctors in the country working there, and they work as a team. The team includes radiation oncologist, oncolgists, surgeons, radiologists, and primary care doctors. Remember breat cancer certainly can be beatable. Good Luck Steve Bari

Dr. Dwight DeRisi at 1010 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck, 516-487-8888. He specializes is breast cancer. Doesn't do anything else. He has operated on my breast twice and on my mother twice also. Benign both times. I absolutely love him. I wouldn't even consider going to anyone else. I'm not a big fan of Long Island Jewish. I hope your sister gets well and she will be in my prayers. Joanne
