Support Group Meeting
Hi group, just a quick comment regarding support groups. Last night I made the drive to Goshen and sure enough all the pre-op lap banders showed up for the meeting. Perhaps we are a tad more eager until we get on the loosing side, so we were willing to trek through the storm. Anyway, last nights meeting was especially meaningful as I realized how incredibly similar all of fears are. I came away feeling a bit more secure that once the band is in place that I will have a solid support group to help me and guide me through the psychological difficulties of saying goodby to my best friend, FOOD!
Have a Swell Day All!
Kenny
Kenny, I'm glad you found a support group to help you through this.I think it will make things easier for you.Your not alone in this and we are all here for you as well.I can totally relate to food being your best friend. We have to change are way of thinking and I hope I can do it.I'm hoping after I go thru all of this that I will have the confidense and desire(that I lost somewhere along the line) to say goodbye to bad choices and get my health and life back on track.I am going to find a support group in my area b/c I will definatally need to be surrounded by people *****ally understand what I'll be going through.Well good luck and tell your best friend not to call you.You will call him. Darlene
Thanks Darlene, for the supportive feed back. At last nights meeting one gentleman who is 12 months out and down 85lbs commented that he still feels like the fat guy! This psychological issue will take years to get a handle on it. My particular group is set up for the next four years! Hope to have it beat by then!
Good Luck
Kenny
