Lotsa WOWS - nice!
Hi my fellow NYers. I hope everyone had wonderful New Year's celebrations. I have had a bunch of really nice wows that I'd like to share.
1. My brother came to visit for Christmas. He was so happy for me, told me for 4 days that I looked terrific and he was so proud of me. But the first thing he said as he hugged me was that he could put his arms around me and it felt GOOD! He actually said - hey it fits, it fits (meaning his arms around me!)
2. I fit into a really pretty dress that has been in my closet (unworn!) for a couple of years. It didn't fit when my hubby bought it for me, but it does now and I broke it out for our New Year's eve dinner. He kept telling me how pretty I looked!
3. We went to our final football game for the season and I FIT into the stupid seat very comfortably and was actually able to move around without discomfort! I can't remember EVER being comfortable in the seats. I usually wiggle and jiggle and move around a lot trying to find a comfortable spot with no luck and while I always enjoy the games, I have always dreaded having to spend three or so hours cramped up in these terrible binding seats! Next year will be even better (I hope for the team too!)
4. I saw my step-daughter and grand-daughter for the first time since surgery and they both WOWED me! Especially my step-daughter. She told me she couldn't beleive how much weight I had lost and asked how much I have lost so far.
Unfortunately I don't have a number yet because my scale doesn't go high enough for my weight - even with what I've lost - but I see the doctor next week and will have an official weigh in. My hubby says he thinks I've lost about 50 pounds. I don't think it's that much, but who knows? He might be right. The good thing is I'm not addicted to the scale and the numbers - so the scale is not my enemy right now.
5. I went to work today and saw a lot of people who I haven't seen since surgery. First I was out after surgery and then they were out on vacation or in one of our other offices or something. Well, I did not tell people why I was having surgery - I figured in general it is not their business and I'd figure out what to tell them about the weight loss when the time came. Anyway, everyone that I saw made incredibly wonderful comments on my weight loss. Some weren't sure what was different about me, but most just said - WOW - you look great - you've lost a lot of weight - keep up the good work. One girl did a double take when she saw me and kept coming by my desk telling me how great I looked. I was beaming. She even apologized and said she'd stop and I said please don't - I love the compliments!
6. Before surgery I had bought a couple of tops at Lane Byant - long sleeved shirts for the winter. I put one on today (I had not worn it since I bought it) and it was WAY too big!
7. And finally - I looked in the mirror today and saw a face looking back at me that I haven't seen in ages and ages.
I've been smiling ever since!
Hope you all have wonderful wow experiences too!

Sounds good to me, we'll wait till the snow melts a little. I was stuck in the house all day too, but I used the time to play with my crystal beading habit that I picked up right after surgery when I seriously needed a hobby. I made 2 more pairs of earrings and now I'm working on a couple of bracelets... I keep telling my friends I'll make these for them but I keep doing them for myself.
