Happy New year and 11 months out
Good morning to my extend family and happy new year....I hope you all had a wonderful time....
I know I have not been around much and let me tell you all why? Oh goodness where do I start....
Well for the last two months I have been very tired and weak.....I am very much a morning person so I never had trouble getting up in the morning....even thou I am not a good sleeper.....I can't fall asleep at night well never could so thats not really new to me....but lately I can not get out of bed.....I feel very weary.....sluggist, fatigue....and have not focus on what I am doing......my knees hurt when I walk down the stairs.....they hurt to where I feel they are going to buckle and fall down.....
I haven't been to my surgeon since surgery.....and it's not cause I don't want to it's cause when I had surgery he said to came and see him in the fall....but I was very busy with work and had no time....this month I can not get any time out of work cause it is registration time here.....so I will have to make an appointment for feb.....
I have lost 135 lbs so far but have not lost any weight in the last 3 months.....I also have not been walking or going to the gym since foot surgeries.....so I know that is one thing I can do to try and start my weight loss again......opps I also went from a size 26 to 14.....I do feel good about my size but it's not where I want to be....I still want to lose another 20 to 30 lbs....
I have gone for accupuncture for weight loss.....but it was just so I wouldn't over eat....yes that's what I said cause I don't get full......well I do I just can eat alot before I get fulll.......I am afraid that I am eating too much now and not having that full feeling worries me......I don't want to end up where I started.....
ok enough about me.....who is here and what have you been up too....
don't forget to take your vitamins, water and exercise.....and if you can sign a surgery page or two....
Love you all....
Christine
Hi Christine,
I am so glad to hear from you ! I am sorry to hear about your being so tired and weak . Have you had any labs done recently ? Maybe you are lacking in something ? Just a guess though .
Your weightloss is awesome ...girl !
I know with having all those issues to contend with that it can make you depressed also . I am right there with you , honey !
I know that I am very overweight and I am very tired all the time and don't want to get up in the morning as well and believe me this is not like me to do , but I am depressed too and I figure this is why I feel this way.
Try to get to your surgeon asap though b/c you don't want to wind up in the hospital ....Do you?
Stay positive and keep us posted on what is happening . We miss you !
Great job with your weightloss !
and
Carol

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! It is so good to hear from you and you are doing great. WOW!!! 135 pounds gone forever. As for you lethargic mood, maybe you need B12, iron, etc. You really need to get to the doctor because these deficiencies can cause you major health problems.
I am just over 5 months out and have lost 76 pounds since surgery and 101 since I began this journey in Nov. 2004. I have gone from a size 32 to a size 24 pants. My tops have gone from 28/30 to 1x. I have been having difficulty with exercising as I am having problems with my back again. One reason for this surgery was in case I need back surgery in the future, but not until I get under 180#'s.
I also worry about eating too much or not getting in enough protein. Some meals, I can eat a lot and other meals, I am lucky to get in 2 oz. of protein. I do get the full feeling though. I guess it depends on what I am eating as to how much I can eat.
I know, take my vitamins, sip my water and exercise. You do the same!!!
Well, don't stay away so long. Have wonderful new year and feel better.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

You are doing wonderful......congratulations......101 lbs since you started this journey and WOW yo are doing great in the inches too,.....your size went down dramatic.....and you should be so proud of yourself......
Brenda do you remember when you were waiting for approval.....and you were so discouraged that others were having surgery and you weren't I do remember how that felt.....cause the same thing happened to me.....I just kept telling you to hang in there it would happen for you....and look at you now,...you are a different person.....you need to post a new picture of your self,.....I bet you look wonderful....
Sorry to hear your back in bothering you again.....I hope it eases up.....
Keep up the good work Brenda.......

Hi Christine,
Good to hear from you. The time is flying by isnt it? I am sorry you have feeling tired and weak but I know the feeling. I would go see the surgeon and get some labs done just to make sure everything is ok.
I just looked at your profile and you latest pictures look great, like a whole other person! And I am sure you look even better now!
Do not get discouraged! 135 pounds is ALOT to lose let alone in under a year. I think we all have in the back of our minds the fear of being "like we were" once you get a little further out in the journey. You have come along way, just keep on telling yourself that!
Anyway, keep in touch ok?
Tavia
Hi Tavia
Thanks for all your encouragment.....you are such an inspiriations to us all with all you have gone throu.....and you still smile.....and you still help everyone with your words of wisedom.....
I do have to remember that...it's just sometimes you still see yourself as the same....even thou I know I lost a whole person.....for me I lost my two kids weights together...... it could be the fear of regaining....but I need to stop eating so much......ugh.....
Thanks hun and it's always wonderful to see you.....
Christine
HI CHIRSTINE!
I can fully relate to your post. BUT please as the others said
try to get the lab work done even if you cant get to the surgone
till FEB. PHONE them get the precription and try to get them done
maybe before work. I know here labs open at 6:00am....at least if
you do the blood work now your surgeon and you can discuss and go over when u get in to see him in FEBRUARY . I do my blood work before i see the surgeon so we can disucuss them .
THERE are so many things for us that cause tireds that your feeling:
dehydration, pottaisum, IRON, VItamin B, depression
all these could be the cause and getting the blood work done is the only sure way to know.
AS for your appetitie...well i have been a big eater since i had the surgury. I have also had hunger right off the bat too. I am looseing
weight so i have not been to concerned. BUT i do expect the closer
to an ideal weight we get the harder it will be to get those last
pounds off!
KEEP up the great work!
AND 135 pounds is wonderful!
LISA
310/187/???
Thanks Lisa.....I tried to call the cori-center....but I know they moved and tried information and they said they have no cori-center in Brooklyn...haha....looks like my doc doesnt want to see me.... just kidding.....I will get the number tomorrow and ask for the perscript.....and make the appointment to see them......I know 135lbs is alot of weight to lose but I feel like a failure even though I know I'm not......
I also was a big eater out of surgery too....and it does make it hard to know if you had enough or not.....when you don't get that full feeling....
Lisa you are doing wonderful .....to you are down 123 lbs that is awsome......keep up the good work....and thanks for your kind words......it's nice to see you again......

Hey again Christine,
For what I remember reading and people telling me, there is a "warning" out on the cori center and the surgeons that work out of there. They seem to switch surgeons and hospitals a lot, which is kind of fishy. I mean closing up shop almost over night and not telling anyone is very bizarre.
I believe they give you the run around with aftercare like canceling appts all the time, don't return calls, etc etc. But I did not know first hand but I am sure a few people on here can tell you their experiences.
I hope you get can follow-up care b/c that is really so important! Take care.
