Hi Carol! I actually went to the seminar having already decided that Dr Lirio would be my surgeon but after meeting Dr Clarke and discussing the pros and cons of open and lap, I decided that lap was a better option for me. (Hopefully I am right!) I really did like Dr Lirio and his surgical history and results are impressive. I'm sure you will be pleased with your decision My twins just turned 2 on 12/8. I have one boy and one girl-Jeremy and Jillian. They keep me so busy-I am a stay at home mom and swear that sometimes going to work at a regular job would be easier I have not been to one of their support groups yet-I have chickened out twice so far but I am going to try and go to the next one. I will let you know how the Medifast goes-I meet with the nurse on Thursday and start on Friday. Email me anytime--best of luck on your future tests. I will send you positive thoughts!! Tara

Tara, I have been to one of the support groups at Ellis and everyone there will make you feel very comfortable. Believe me I chickened out many times before finally going . Actually I probably would not have gone then but a patient of Dr. lirio's was looking for someone to go with her to her first one as well and I met her at Ellis and we walked in together ! It made it much easier having someone to go with . If you would like I would be more than happy to meet you there @ Ellis for a meeting when you are ready to attend one . If not , well that is just fine too . No pressure here ! I have not been to another one since because I have an hour drive to get there , but I would really like to start going to them on a regular basis . I agree with you on the going to work would be easier then staying home and raising your children ! I did'nt have twins and I was a stay at home mom as well and it was not an easy task ! My children are pretty much all grown up now . I have 3 children 2-girls and 1- boy . I only have 1- girl, age 15 left at home and she can still be quite a handful ! I am sure you have your handsful too ! Thanks for sending me positive thoughts ! I need all I can get ! I am sending you some as well ! Take care and let me know on your progress ! and Carol

Hi Carol, Good luck with your tests. I never had to have either so I have no insight there for you, but just think, it's another step closer to your new life! I'm sure you'll do great with the medifast, I hear they have lots of good stuff now! I gained about 10 lbs before my surgery and had to lose it quick, so don't feel bad! I bet you will drop a ton of weight during those 8 weeks! What a great head start that will be for you! Happy New Year to you too! HUGS, Vi

Hi Violet ! Thank you so much for the support ! You are so very lucky that you did not have to get those test's ! The prep for the colonoscopy is the worst ! The colonoscopy is a piece of cake compared to the prep ! Yep, 5:00 o'clock Thursday I will be in hell ! I am so not looking forward to it , but at the same time I know that after Thursday the worst of the testing will be done ! Yes,Yes ....Yes ! I really hope I do well on the Medifast ! I have to lose 32 lbs before surgery. He would like me to lose 40lbs. So that is what I am going to strive for ! I am a bit nervous about being on it so long but also at the same time I can't wait to start it ! Make sense ? Well any how Violet, I thank you again for all the support ! I wish you much success in the New Year ! and Carol
