Need some help and support from those who know

Hi, my name is Julie and I live in the Rochester NY area... I have been fighting to get this surgery for a year, and my insurance won't pay... Does anyone know of surgeons in the area who finance? and how much does it cost? I am so ready for this leap, because I have tried on my own for 2 years - and when I finally give up and decide to love myself for who I am not my body size, I am diagnosed with high blood pressure, osteo arthritis (almost crippling) in my knees, hips, and even ankles, and borderline diabetes... this after getting healthy and eating right... and losing about30 in those 2 years... but I have lost my love, even desire to eat... I hate eating actually... and I no longer want to be in a bathing suit, just to be able to get up 1 flight of stairs would thrill me... Or to go to any restaurant and not pray they sit us in a booth because I don't fit..well I fit if I enjoy eating off my chest... I am looking for anyone who can relate and maybe guide me in the right direction... thank you... julie

Dr. Caruana in buffalo has a payment plan,but I do not know how it works and I do not know if the hospital he does the surgery at has a payment plan I will have a friend of mine with thre rochester support group email you. she might be able to help.

Hey Julie Sorry the insurance company is not doing what they are there for, I know all to well how bad you must want this surgery to change your life for the better. It savied my life and I love my new life and would not change a thing, but for me the insurance company paid for my WLS and both of my Plastic Surgerys. I did have to pay for the extra work the insurance company didnt pay for when I had my plastic surgery, so what I did is finance part of my PS with Capital One Health Care. They also do it for other medical things so maybe they would be a way for you. Here is a link to where I filled out the on line paperwork and was approved. Thank you all for your responses... It feels so good to find a place where people UNDERSTAND and don't judge. My family is so against the surgery because years ago I went from 300 pounds down to 150 but what they didn't know is that my doctor prescribed SPEED, methamphetamines to assist me and once I stopped I struggled endlessly throught the years just to keep a semi decent weight... And now I am 38, and my metabolism is shot, due to the diet pills, speed, etc that always did the work for me.... I will definately look into the financing, and I would be more than willing to go to Buffalo, if it meant getting my life back!!!
