I am wondering if you've tried it and how you did with it? I sometimes ready that people have had the soup, but it looks like there's a lot of sugar in it. I was thinking of making myself 1/2 grilled cheese on carb monito whole grain bread with some tomato soup on the side...yummy! Input would be appreciated!!!!! Erin

Erin, First off I just wanted to say you look awesome hun.... Love the new pic... I do not like tomato soup so I can not help you there but I have had grilled cheese, about 1/2 and I end up picking off the cheese. Sometimes bread just taste icky to me...so weird....though the bread was a reduced carb whole wheat and it tasted icky anyways.. Maybe someone can give you more info on this but I just wanted to say you look awesome. Take care Debra P

HONESTLY at my recent six month check up i talked to my surgone on soup....you know we have the rule of no liquids with the meal...so soup is solid...the meat, veggies and such and then the broth. HE said its okay on ocasion but not to often. I know i like chicken soup on the cold days. THAT liquid pushed the food thru to fast and we will get hungry soon. SO im trying to not get to into soup right now. I will say when i was sick for 14 days soup helped me. GOOD LUCK! LISA

Hi Erin. You lookd great. How is everything at school? I eat tomato soup almost every day. I make it with cheese melted in it, and that and lentil soup with cheese is pretty much what I eat almost every day. Solids are not good for me. 1 cup of tomato soup has 23 grams carbs and 9 sugar. I figure since I eat half a cup, I am OK. My nutritionist said to keep carbs below 20 grams per serving, so I guess this is ok. Of course, you should listen to your own nutritionist. Have a great day, and enjoy your vacation. SH

When the urge is strong and I MUST have it, I opt for the Campbell's Healthy Request Tomato. It's delish and has a lot less sugar.

*I* personally only do soup RARELY (I did it in liquid stage immediately postop) but after that to use MY tool to its fullest soup just goes right through, does NOT make me full and seems like a waste of calories. Don't get me wrong I do soup on ocassion 1x month maybe and BEFORE a meal never WITH IT!, but it WOULD NOT be campbells tomato due to HIGH sugar content (for me again I follow a south beach type of philosophy for eating)....AND I follow pouch rules BY NEVER EATING/DRINKING together (it too just pushes things thru the pouch w/o satiety) and allows us to eat more! The can of soup I has says: 1/2 cup serving ( 2.5 servings in a can) *WITHOUT anything added is 90 cal 0g fat 710mg sodium (lets say bloat!) TWENTY (20) grams of carbs 12 of those are sugar grams 2 measly grams protein... No ocassional ok, often NOPE for me...ANd not sure if one would dump on this or start desensitizing self to sugar or cause cravings for more sugar if taken a lot. My 2 cents! I am just 2 weeks out, but I do fine with it. They served it to me in the hospital so I figured that it was ok to eat. I make it with skim milk that way I am getting some protein in. Marty

Hi Erin, When I first had surery, I had Tomato soup everyday and even bought it by the case. It is fine, just keep walking and try the low sodium if possible. You can only have a half of a cup or 1 cup so it won;'t hurt . Jannie
