Pending Approval

Hello I am new to the board and had a couple of questions that I would like to ask to everyone who has been through the process. I was wondering Is there anyone out there with Medicaid w/HMO Careplus? and if there is Did you get approval? Next question I recently saw my PCP and had blood work done my test came back ok but was stated that I have High Cholesterol I was wondering is that part of a cormorbidity? The reason why I ask is because I am 31 yrs old I stand at 5' 7 and I weigh in at 247lbs. I have recently been contacted by one of the Cori Center's Patient Care Coordinator and was told that they are waiting for approval from my insurance company. I have not been to any support groups due to the fact that the Tansit Strike is really taking it's toll on me, I mean I know I would be needing to get ready to do this kind of exercising if I am considering on having this procedure done, but when you put your body into shock without preparing it could really take a toll on you, especially your feet.....whew blisters for days.....lol if anyone could help me with valuable information all would be appreciated.

Gigi, Hun I just wanted to say welcome to the board ~Hugs~ I am not sure about your Ins comp so I can not be sure, what happens if you call them? Will they offer any info? I know I had GHI and they really was not much help, more help was given by my surgeons office! I wish you the very best. Debra P

Thanks Debra for welcoming me at this hectic stage. I also would like to send my congratulations to you I look forward to being on that side. I've been reading other message boards and ran across one that caught my attention can't remember her name right but will go back to email her because she has said in her message not to deal with the Cori Centers and that's who I am working with to see if I could have this procedure done. I don't know much about GHI myself but I'm pretty sure I will run into a couple of more elders on the sight who could help. I did call them they just said it needs to be medically necessary.
