Plastics Scheduled
As it stands today I will be having Hernia repair, belt lipectomy, bilateral mastopexy & bilateral brachioplasty on Jan 25th. Dr. Singh will do the hernia repair and Dr. King will do the plastics.
Please keep me in your prayers as after all the complications I had with the gastric bypass I am hoping for a routine surgery this time. I have appointments with hemotologist, cadiologist , Dr. Singh, Dr. King & Dr. Michalek all in Jan prior to the surgery.
Gonna be a busy January.
My employer doesn't seem to thrilled with me taking some time off so I hope it will be smooth sailing, I didn't telll them if all goes well I want to do the thighs too. LOL

Hi Mary,
I had some pretty bad complications from my inital lap. RNY surgery and had an open operation a few days after my inital surgery b/c of a bad obstruction at the connection of my pouch which caused my espoguas(sp?) to be fluid-filled(that caused pneumonia) and a really bad small and large bowel obstruction. All of my intestines collasped. My heart rate went up to 160 during the second operation. I was in the ICU, on a ventilator (I do remember waking up a few times with that in me and being the most pain of my life), had all the tubes in me, the hallucinations from the drugs, etc. etc, so I know what you are talking about.
I seriously thought I was going to die as well, I mean you do not feel like there is too much hope when tubes and machines are keeping you alive. What I do remember vividly is the expressions on my husband, half-sister, brother, mother, a couple of friends, surgeon and PCPs face when they came to my bed to see me. I remember those expressions on their faces like it happened yesturday.
I guess we were just part of the unlucky group.
Having a horrible reaction to one surgery doesn't mean you it will happen again. I have had four other surgeries since my RNY and I have never had one complication from them, just the initial one. Good luck with the plastics, you will be fine! You look so great by the way! Let us know how fabulous you are doing!
