Ok I'm gonna ask the Dr. and dietician when I go next week BUT.... I'm 4 wks post op and I'm not hungry at all.....I was told I probably wouldn't be.....but that leaves me thinking.... if i'm not hungry when i start to eat, how should i know when to stop?? I've been eating comfortably 4-6oz of food within a 45 min time period but only cause i have to eat not cause i want food....i would be perfectly happy having liquids all day (including my protein drinks of course) .......it's actually easier for me to do that but i'm not sure i should... any thoughts?? deedee

I had my surgery the month before you and I still have the same problem, I'm rarely hungry and food doesn't much appeal to me and then it seems like the minute I find something I enjoy, it gets stuck and I never want to eat it again, or anything else solid for that matter! BUT we have to try and get our protein from food. It's so much better for us, so we need to keep trying to eat. I know it's hard but if I can do it so can you! Hang in there, this phase won't last forever! Vi

Dee, That does not last forever hun and it is just a trial and error thing, eat until you are satisfied and remember you need to get that protein in so plan your day that will help. Hunger does return though some days I still could go all day without eating and some I could eat, eat and eat. Sounds like you are getting in your protein if you can eat that 4-6 oz of food. That is really good. Take care hun ~hugs~ Debra P

You will most def. know when you've eaten too much. And you won't do it again/often as it isn't the most comfortable experience ever.
